Weekend tasks...

It feels like it was a productive weekend! We got a chance to spend some time with my mom and I went with hubby for a nice birthday dinner. We got some farm chores done and a little bit of planting. We even made it out to Costco and picked up a nice Mandoline, a toy I've been wanting for a while!

We also got some preserving done. We made 4 pints and seven 12 oz jars of a golden plum jam with local plums. We made pepper rings, 7 pints of hots and 7 pints of sweet (now what can we use those on besides subs?), and we froze half a bushel of green peppers, all sliced up and ready to use for cooking this winter.
Tonight I am going to make up a couple dozen or more chili rellano's and stick them in the freezer so we can have them when we want them in the winter.
We are hoping to be able to eat from our garden for at least some of the winter, and are trying to do things now to help make that happen.

We had a touch of rain, but not nearly enough, keep hoping for rain!
