When you farm you feel like the spring is always a strange race. You wait at the start line watching the rain and then waiting until the ground is dry enough that you don't:

1. stick your tractor in mud

2. whip the mud into a smooth (and airless) soup

3. create thousands of mud balls which won't break up until next winter



So we wait... Then FINALLY it is dry enough. When that happens the tractor work starts, although by that point in every Ohio spring there is major rain in the forcast. So we race against oncoming fronts to get fields disced, tilled, and hilled before the rain starts again in earnest...
