When you see organic food in the grocrey store do you think

small farmers in the field or do you think Heinz or Kellog? You may need to think again. When you buy at a producres only farmers market or from your CSA you know who grew your food. The Cornucopia Institute has made this chart.

I remember the first time I saw this chart. It totally shook me up to realize my organic Muir Glen tomatoes that I practically lived off of were made by General Mills... Part of the problem is that a lot of these companies/brands were started by real people who wanted to make awesome healthy products, but then they were bought up by these mega-corporations. It makes everything just that much more confusing!
